Entertaiment is a broad concept, ranging from a single individual choosing a private entertainment on an ever-increasing variety of pre-recorded products; to banquets adapted for two; to performances intended for thousands or even the whole world. Although it has become associated with amusement, many forms of entertainment have a serious purpose: ceremony, religious festival, satire and so on. Entertainment is also highly adaptable: it may change to fit different audiences or times and can be interpreted in many ways. The article offers a set of definitions of entertainment, building on bibliographical research and using qualitative research proceedings with the management area.
